And Still I Rise

If you've heard this poem before, you can never hear it enough times. If you haven't ever heard Mya Angelou's Still I Rise, take the time to listen to it, you'll be glad you did. I listen to this whenever I feel as though outside forces are trying to bring me down. We all have good days and bad days. And we all have those days that throw us for a loop. Not because of our own miscalculation but because of the actions of another. Whether it be judgment that isn't warranted, a misunderstanding of intent or words that should have been left unsaid, we are left feeling down and questioning ourselves after certain interactions. Instead of letting another make me to doubt myself or infect my day, I listen to this and rise above it all. I am inspired by Mya Angelou's poetry. I appreciate that you don't have to be able to relate completely to all of her words, yet you can still find hope in what she's saying, as it pertains to your current situation. Listen and rise above it all. Rise above all of the discomfort and anger, the hate and judgement, the pity and irritation, the pain and the past. Look all of it in the face and say, yet still I rise...
